Arid & semi-arid landscapes

Make the root zone part of the water strategy.

Hot, dry sites need a planting approach that accounts for local soils, irrigation water and maintenance capacity. For Middle East projects, a monitored pilot provides a practical starting point.

Project priorities

What the brief should address.

  1. 01

    Characterise the constraints

Understand soil texture, infiltration, salinity, water quality and exposure before choosing a configuration.

  2. 02

    Integrate with the project

Coordinate planting, irrigation and surface treatments with the landscape consultant and local contractor.

  3. 03

    Define a fair comparison

Agree species, baseline conditions, water records and monitoring periods for both treatment and comparison plots.

Start with your site

Every tree starts with a place.

Tell us about the trees, the site and the challenge. We can discuss a technical approach, a field intervention or a monitored pilot.
